Physical Fitness Standards for Agent Applicants - Testing Process

The physical fitness of OBN agents is vital in performing essential job functions. In some instances, agents perform job functions under dangerous conditions in which agents must be able to defend themselves and others. OBN has adopted the physical fitness standards outlined below to ensure that each agent is at an acceptable level of physical fitness to perform job functions and respond to situations with the appropriate physical stamina. All applicants must take the fitness test in order to continue with the hiring process.

The physical fitness test is scored using a point system based on benchmarks for each activity. Applicants can earn a maximum of 50 points for the physical fitness test based on their performance. Each activity is worth 10 points. Overall, applicants must earn 24 points on the fitness test. The physical fitness test includes activities to assess an applicant’s cardiovascular endurance, abdominal muscular strength, upper body strength, anaerobic power, and flexibility.
